SAFE SPORT ACT

To ensure the safety of children participating in youth sports, the United States government established the Safe Sport Act of 2017 that mandates new safety requirements that aim to protect youth athletes through abuse prevention training and mandated reporting.

In the Spring of 2019 the HYA Board of Directors voted to require all coaches, assistants and team volunteers that have contact with our athletes to complete an abuse training program.
