Beginning with the spring sports season in 2019 all coaches, assistant coaches and volunteers that have contact with our athletes are required to register for a background screening and complete the Abuse Prevention training prior to the start of the season.  

All background screenings are good for a 2 year period.

Keeping kids safe is a top priority and fundamental piece of our mission to get more kids involved in sports. To further this mission, SportsEngine is partnering with the leading providers of background screening services—the National Center for Safety Initiatives (NCSI) and Southeastern Security Consultants, Inc. (SSCI)—to help us deliver the “Gold Standard” of safety programs.

Confirms name and date of birth against the Social Security Number provided. This is used to help eliminate the possibility of false names and/or information. It also confirms current address and identifies previous addresses. This is critical information used to determine the jurisdiction in which the background screening will be conducted.

Local Criminal Record Search

State and/or county criminal record searches are performed to source misdemeanor and felony records. Based on address history, multiple county searches may be performed. All of the county record searches are conducted directly with the county court.

National Criminal Search

Two multi-jurisdictional criminal database searches covering 50 states plus DC, Guam, and Puerto Rico with more than 500 million records per provider and alias search.

Sex Offender Registry

Two sex offender registry database searches of commercial data providers to conduct state/jurisdictions in the U.S. and territories, including DC, Guam, and Puerto Rico.

INTERPOL, FBI Most Wanted, Federal Sanctions

Wanted foreign nationals, international sex offenders/traffickers, all high­-level criminal data provided by partner countries.
